Joesan

i had it all planned since young
you come along you wont leave me alone
you make my family everyday miserable crying and moaning
you’re not going to go home
your family moved me
you think im going to change my mind
daddy knows what i meant
there's things in life
and im not afraid of not a damn thing not a thing
and all that goddamn bullshit
i took it because it is not important
divorce yeah its easy i could make it on my own
i know my capability to come to the United States
even in the United States i could have done it
he knows he goes tmoo far i would do it
i didn’t want to marry
he convinced me
im going to do what i said
you remeber
you convinced me
not to do things my way
that's the way life was
the whole family changed to a better life
it was me
i am the one to open the door to convince them there is a better world than seward pennsylvnia
uncle eddie didn’t have to work as a bartender
the only person on my side was grampa
he said listen to mickey
he was really mad
he told gramma to shut up
uncle cooney and ed and grampa know what i did
vera said you know what she’s like?
grampa answered: “She’s the best!”
so i’ve been through... not through, i saw.
i experienced every good and bad,
nothing rattles me,  and you’re going to start bullshit
ookay mom i take whatever they send me
maybe i’ll get
you will lawyer need it, you know that ,
that’s my life and im getting pretty tried
i look back my life since 22
i came to this country
how i straightened up
grampa knows exactly what i did
if it wasn’t for mickey jesus christ
we’d all be sitting in the bar with the beer bottle in our hands
grama would smile and say yeah you’re right mickey
i never had to call my parents
not even once

i took the whole you kids brush you off and show off and go back to japan...  yoshiko didn't want me to go "Yeah but mummy between there you never know what she want she went through.  She got Hasegawa he’s a different kind, but he was worse, she didn’t say that,

if it werent for me, i can see ... if it wasn’t for me and my good sense, and bossy, good and bad, but bad thing that’s not me, i like things smooth and nice and tidy and everyone do their own job and i took my little woman and my grampa said you’re a powerful one.

my grandma knows she would always say miyako is different

won’t be involved in another country
how can you go
are you sure you want to go
don’t you get afraid
joesan is only 21, or
i could never do that
mitsuko and akiko they look at each other
they looks at me and mumma says she’s a powerful one
this little girl

i will never forget, she looks at me and smiles, i don’t have to worry about you
since you were a little girl you do your own thing and everything what you said you never listened to everybody you know what you want and know what  you need but always had a lot of friends, good friends, yokochan and hirokochan, all my gfs, here i be taken nap, mom said your gfs come to see you, im taking a nap, they have to come back some other time.  she just says come in come in she will wake up so my gf comes in laughing and giggling ....okachan ... what are you doing here?  i’m taking a nap.  We have to go home?  We’re going out.  I forgot all about it.  Oh okay i promised so i get up and wash my face, my mother just kind of smile shaking her head telling my gf what are we going to do with her?

i was never a mean person.  everybody liked me.  i don’t think any one single person can dislike me i was just easy going and they all know i was very independent and if a bunch of girls wanted to i would say you go and have a good time

everything i do , i did right, and i was never be mean or nasty, i don’t think one person i was like that mean and nasty.  i never said anything to my gfs my mother can tell you, i just smile and walks away and mumma would have to explain, she’s tired or this or that, and they would say maybe tomorrow we come, we had a plan you know    i was really independent but i was never mean and everybody liked me ... at my age i can say its like brag but i can say...

they say he is an overgrown child, Joesan, but a nice one, good heart.  He always looked through the bookcases and whatever he says he writes down and he has beautiful handwriting.  Showing my family.  I think he was a pretty smart boy.

He painted those pictures.

When you kids go back there, you kids were cute.  They thought was so happy go lucky all those children happy and funny and playful.  They know Joesan is a little-bitty child i said what do you mean little bitty child he’s an overgrown kid.  My mother shakes her head.  You shouldn’t say something like that about your own husband.  I said it is different than your husband, how could you know what not to say?

no mommasan no no no she’s lying
momma knows it’s true.  she can look at me and know.  she says i can just see kathy and karen and patty they was just kids, and i can see how you did a good job, just one look at em, and Joesan he was just a good husband.

i don't why i got it
mumma says i don'tt know what you have got

i said women and men are different and i got a lot of good stuff from day and mumma says yes
mumma you’re a real softy but dad funny and he knows right from wrong
no bullshit

... she said it is a good thing you take after good things from dad

ojosan.  mumma was like a lady, no swearing, no ugly things no nothing but intelligence wise she is not strong, she’s okay, she’s righteous, she’s okay, i learned from her.

they couldn’t bring themselves to comprehend
ahhh

my mother knew i could do it and can it continue to be written in this script
apparently
